From the moment Neon Pigeon opened its door I'd heard good things about the place, I booked before the masses arrived and fell in love with it, so much so, I was reluctant to write about it for fear it would become a badly kept secret. Once a place gets busy there is always a danger of feeling a little rushed out the door - we aren't there yet but there is no question that the secret is out.
The food is sublime with flavours that leave you wishing dishes would never come to an end. The cold grilled squid wasabi with tempura seaweed and shiso ponzu ticks all the right boxes, as does the herb salad with cabbage, pickled shallots and a smoked soy vinaigrette. Infact all the dishes on this menu tick the right boxes, I've never had a bad meal here yet.
The service is warm and inviting, staff don't hover too much, and the atmosphere is great, add to that the food consistently off the charts great and you won't go far wrong getting a table here.
